Creating a Better Healthcare Environment

Eastern Maine Medical Center

EMMC plays a critical regional healthcare role with thousands of Mainers relying on it every day for primary, specialty, and acute care. On any given day, about half of the inpatients at EMMC come from outside the primary service area.

EMMC’s Modernization Project is focused on:

  • Adding 14 new operating rooms, including Endovascular hybrid operating rooms, orthopedic, cardiac, cardiothoracic, trauma, and robotic rooms
  • Updating women’s and infants’ care space, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Consolidating Cardiovascular diagnostic, non-invasive, and interventional services, bringing Heart Center services closer together
  • Adding 64 new private patient rooms and 32 new NICU rooms

The central utility plant is being expanded to accommodate two new 300 HP boilers, 1,700 tons of new chillers, a new 1.5 MW emergency generator, and major upgrades to the campus medium voltage normal and essential electrical distribution system.

BVH utilized REVIT Structure, REVIT MEP and AutoCAD MEP.
