Expansion & Renovation to Accommodate Growth
Lafayette Hall, Housatonic Community College
In 1997, Housatonic Community College (HCC) had approximately 2,700 students and moved into its first permanent campus at 900 Lafayette Boulevard in Bridgeport, at which time the college immediately experienced a significant enrollment increase. By the spring of 2011, enrollment had reached approximately 6,000.
The improvements to Lafayette Hall included a 46,000 SF addition that created a new Welcome Center for HCC that provides for a more efficient and effective enrollment and registration process. The addition also included a student services suites, multi-purpose rooms, general classrooms, computer labs, and art studios.
Renovations to 35,000 SF included expansion of the library, academic support center, new science labs, and additional offices for student services.
