Helping a Laser Manufacturer Compete in the Global Marketplace
Trumpf
Trumpf is the largest manufacturer of fabricating equipment and industrial lasers in North America, and the design of its new, 85,000-SF facility on its Farmington, CT campus is helping the international manufacturing company stay competitive in the global laser cutting tools market.
Dubbed the “LITE Center” (Laser Innovation & Technical Excellence), the new facility is used to develop and assemble three lines of innovative industrial lasers, with sophisticated process-engineering systems supporting the required extreme technological requirements.
Trumpf consolidated all production, research and development and other support services related to laser tools in this facility.
The $28-million project includes a large Laser Assembly Hall with zones for R&D, assembly and final testing – all supported by a high-tech, below-grade infrastructure providing chilled process water, test power and industrial gases. Administrative offices, conference rooms, product display space and a staff cafeteria, along with a parts washing area, clean room, shipping & receiving areas and a central data facility complete this phase.
