A Place to Learn, Collaborate & Experience the Arts
Libraries are not just places to borrow books. Today, libraries have transformed into spaces to learn, collaborate, socialize, meet and do business. The expansion and renovation of the Wilton Library – the town’s center of community activity, included more than 50,000 square feet of expanded and renovated space.
Remaining open throughout construction, the project includes six quiet study rooms and a computer lab for instruction and Internet access. Two interior courtyards, large meeting rooms for public use, and an acoustically separate room for teens adjacent to the teen librarian’s office allow for collaboration and dialogue.
The new children’s library with its own restrooms and flexible story room inspires young readers with a lifelong passion for books, and a drive-up window provides instant access for the elderly and busy parents that are short on time.
The Wilton Library also features an art gallery and the Brubeck Room, a spectacular venue for presentations, performances and receptions.
