Leadership

Thomas St. Denis, PE, LEED AP

Principal

A civil/structural engineer by training, Tom is known for his leadership in tackling big challenges in the implementation of the built environment. With more than 30 years of experience, he understands what it takes for BVH’s integrated team to design complex projects — and create ideal spaces to gather as communities to live, work and play.

The depth and breadth of Tom’s experience ranges from masterplans and utility tunnels for colleges and universities to renovations and new construction of healthcare, industrial and commercial buildings.  His diverse experience has given him a working knowledge of all construction trades, a holistic view of the construction process, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by architects, engineers and constructors alike.

He’s also worked directly with officials and regulatory offices, gaining first-hand experience of the approval process. He knows how things fit together and is effective at finding optimum solutions that play to everybody’s strengths. Attention to detail and good communication are the keys to his success.

Tom is actively involved in organizations that support and promote the engineering profession. He served on Board of Directors for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Connecticut. He was also the recipient of the 2012 Associated General Contractors of Connecticut (AGC CT) Designer of the Year award.
