Renovation to Hartford’s Regional Theater Hartford, CT BVH is providing civil, mechanical and electrical engineering and technology design services for an $11 million renovation project to downtown Hartford’s regional theater, the Hartford Stage. The 489-seat theater, which began in 1963 in a former grocery store warehouse, is expanding from 32,000-SF to 55,000-SF in two phases, including an elevator and a second stage. The Hartford Stage produces six major theatrical productions and one to two summer productions annually, and has been recognized by the Tony Awards, the OBIEs, and the New York Critics Circle Awards. As part of the project, the theater will receive an MEP infrastructure upgrade, and the lobby, education and studio space will be expanded to create a black-box style theatre and classroom/ rehearsal halls. |
