Central Maine Medical Center
Heart & Vascular Institute
Lewiston, ME
The creation of a new cardiovascular center at Central Maine Medical Center began after a study indicated an acute need for cardiac care services in central Maine. BVH provided structural, mechanical and electrical engineering for the new, 7-story, 170,000-SF complex, built on to the existing hospital. The 40,000 SF of renovations include relocation of the existing front entrance, creation of a new lobby and atrium, and design of a circulation spine to connect the two buildings. The new center contains cardiac surgery, cardiac cath labs, and an intensive care unit, non-invasive cardiology, an interventional unit, and a 16-bed patient care unit. |
