Branford & Saybrook Colleges

New Haven, CT

These two dormitory buildings, referred to as colleges, were constructed in 1917. Both buildings, a total of 320,000 SF, underwent a comprehensive renovation consisting of the complete removal and reinstallation of plumbing, heating, ventilating, and electrical and telecommunication systems, with the addition of full sprinkler protection and fire alarm installation. Located on Yale's "old campus," the buildings required a historically and architecturally sensitive design. The colleges contain master houses, dining halls, kitchens, fellows’ and deans' apartments, laundries, common gathering areas, squash courts and exercise rooms.
