Michael J. Adanti Student Center New Haven, CT Completed in 2006 at a cost of $36.5 million, the new 125,000-SF Student Center is the campus community's central meeting place. It occupies four levels and houses a range of student amenities including a grand ballroom with seating for 500 guests, a 200-seat movie theater, a 7,500-SF fitness center, lounge, multicultural center, and substation for the campus police. The first floor has a glass-enclosed concourse that offers access to patios outside. The student center, which is also the new focal point of the university's central mall, offers meeting rooms for clubs, a student bookstore, computer lab, grand ballroom, coffeehouse, and food court. The building has its own chiller plant with water and air-cooled chillers. Heating is provided by a new central plant. |
