High-Tech Accelerator for Entrepreneurs
Stanley Black & Decker Manufactory 4.0
Stanley Black & Decker, the manufacturer of industrial tools and household hardware and provider of security products and locks, partnered with TechStars, a Colorado-based network for entrepreneurs, to open a Hartford accelerator in September 2018, promoting 3D additive manufacturing and research to startups from across the globe.
The goal of this partnership is to have entrepreneurs from 10 startups come to the new 30,000-SF site at One Constitution Plaza to research new applications for additive, or 3D manufacturing.
“Companies were selected for this accelerator based on their level of passion, talent and drive, as well as their innovations within additive manufacturing,” said Claudia Reuter, managing director of the Stanley+Techstars Accelerator, adding that the chosen startups were the “best positioned to help move the manufacturing sector forward.”
The startups will have access to mentoring and resources to grow their ideas into viable businesses and bring new technologies to market.
