Helping a Laser Manufacturer Compete in the
Global Marketplace

Trumpf

Farmington, Connecticut

Trumpf is the largest manufacturer of fabricating equipment and industrial lasers in North America, and the design of its new, 85,000-SF facility on its Farmington, CT campus is helping the international manufacturing company stay competitive in the global laser cutting tools market.

Dubbed the "LITE Center" (Laser Innovation & Technical Excellence), the new facility is used to develop and assemble three lines of innovative industrial lasers, with sophisticated process-engineering systems supporting the required extreme technological requirements.

Trumpf consolidated all production, research and development and other support services related to laser tools in this facility.

The $28-million project includes a large Laser Assembly Hall with zones for R&D, assembly and final testing – all supported by a high-tech, below-grade infrastructure providing chilled process water, test power and industrial gases. Administrative offices, conference rooms, product display space and a staff cafeteria, along with a parts washing area, clean room, shipping & receiving areas and a central data facility complete this phase.
