Design that Reflects a Progressive Police Department

West Hartford Police Station

West Hartford, Connecticut

With vacant space created by the relocation of the adjacent Superior Court, the West Hartford Police Department was presented with a unique opportunity to renovate and expand its facility.

With an emphasis on programmatic efficiencies and flexible growth, this project created a socially-integrated police facility that encourages interaction within the department as well as with the community, and reflects the West Hartford Police Department's progressive policing philosophy.

The newly-renovated complex includes a modern communications center, new detention and processing facilities, a new public entrance and main desk. Comprehensive renovations were completed for all existing interior spaces and systems included heating, ventilation, lighting, power, and data.

The complex also houses a criminal courthouse facility.
